    Amazing Amethyst
As a regular Echo user, I recently moved my Lavender Echo Pop to the kitchen to make room for this Echo Dot Max on my bedside table. I pre-ordered it specifically for the extra bass, and as a music lover, I’m seriously impressed—the sound quality is fantastic.Design & Utility:The Amethyst colour is absolutely delicious! It is a rich, vibrant purple that looks stunning with the “netting” texture of the speaker. Beyond the looks, the stand is incredibly practical; I use the built-in USB-C ports to charge my phone while I sleep, which has really decluttered my nightstand.Performance:The set-up was effortless since I already have other Amazon speakers. The device is very responsive, though I am looking forward to the rollout of the new Alexa+ here in the UK. I’m hoping the update will allow it to handle more complex questions, but for music and daily tasks, it’s already a massive upgrade.

A very good little but effective smart speaker
I decided to buy the brand new Echo Dot Max (which I see is now £10 cheaper) without hearing the cheaper versions, so I don’t know if the sound quality is the same, better or worse. I like listening to music through quality speakers; my main system is B & O, which produce an amazing sound. Setting up was easy and straighforward, and I was able to set up my preferred radio stations with no problems. The sound quality is very good and can easily fill the room and you can adjust bass, treble etc via the equaliser to suit your taste. For rock, pop, jazz etc, the guitars, drums, keyboards are very clear. Classical music is also very enjoyable. Alexia will play individual tracks from Amazon music when requested, but if you wish to listen to albums, you are asked to pay the monthly subscription to Amazon music. Alexia will play album and compilation music via my Spotify account. So far, I’m very pleased with this smart speaker would definitely recommend it.

    A worthwhile upgrade.
I bought this as a replacement for the previous model Echo, which was requiring frequent resets and was dropping out on BT sound. I was surprised that this was much physically smaller, i.e. more compact. It is of pleasing textured appearance. I just plugged it in in place of the old Echo, and because it was pre-registered to my Amazon account, it installed itself. It seems to respond better to voice commands, and the sound quality is very much better. Less ‘boomy’ and better clarity of sound. Otherwise, it works just like the old one. Good value and a worthwhile upgrade.

    Pricey but a nice upgrade
I’m very happy with Max dot. It looks great seems like really big step up in quality compared to previous models of the dot. Pretty much everything is improved on the dot max. Music sounds great. Setup was very easy. In terms of functionality it dose everything the previous models do and moreCurrently in the UK still can’t use Alexa+Like the previous echo dot 5th gen this can act as a eero WiFi extender. That seems to work pretty well.Let me be clear about this function. It’s an add on to an existing eero network. So you would need at least 1 actual eero to be able to use this function. On the looks I’ve always gone for the black/charcoal colour options. I think I prefer the graphite look of this but with no charcoal option it’s hard to compare. It dose look pretty cool in a death star type way.Price wise I got it on offer + trade in 20% off. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t have bought one full price.

Help with setting up if you’re upgrading.
We received this today ( the purple one, very nice colour ) & now we’re set up, we are very impressed. It has a very nice sound, which is great for music. With some help from AI, I have changed the equalizer settings via the Alexa app. It told me that most users set the bass to -2, the treble to +2 or +3, and the mid-range to +3 or +4 for best results.Something we feel should be noted is in the setup phase if you have other Alexa devices. We already have an original Echo Dot as well as an Echo Dot 2. We decided not to use the Echo Dot anymore & move the Echo Dot 2 from the living room to the bedroom. The Echo Dot Max will be in the living room. This meant unplugging the Echo Dot 2. When we set up the Echo Dot Max, we asked Alexa to play some music, but she kept saying she couldn’t as the device was offline. We finally realised the device she meant was the unplugged Echo Dot 2. This was because the Echo Dot 2 was listed as our preferred speaker in the Alexa app. This meant we needed to go into the app>devices>groups & from there choose which speakers we wanted. We chose Echo Dot Max from the menu & this worked, Alexa played our music from our new device, the Echo Dot Max. I’m including this information for anyone who is upgrading their Alexa device & may do the same as we did, unplugging & moving an existing Alexa device. It foxed us for a while, so I hope this is helpful for someone at least.Apparently, by having the new Max, we are now top of the list for Alexa+, which is currently rolling out across the UK. This is the new, AI-enhanced Alexa, which is currently free for Prime members. It will be interesting to see & hear what the new Alexa will be like.Anyway, it may be day one, but we’re very pleased with our new Max.

It doesn’t have Romanian or Russian. You can’t connect directly to play any song from your phone, you have to subscribe to Amazon Music and pay, whatever you do, you have to pay.It has few operating languages. It doesn’t have a battery, it always has to be plugged in. You can’t play any songs from YouTube or anywhere else, it has Spotify but it’s limited, meaning if you don’t pay a subscription you have access to the worst songs that are in the top or originals you don’t have access to, you make a playlist and go from there, not the ones you want. Or you have to get another Amazon Music subscription. Whatever you do, you’ll run out of money, I’m unhappy with that kind of money, I’ll just return it and get my money back. Note 2👎👎👎A gadget made by the unconscious. + the racism that exists between the producer and other countries, to name just a few. 👎👎👎
