The Echo Dot Kids is a fantastic smart speaker and perfect for children. The sound quality is clear and more than good enough for music, audiobooks and bedtime stories. Alexa is easy for kids to use, and the parental controls give great peace of mind.The included one-year Amazon Kids+ subscription is a big bonus, offering lots of age-appropriate content, games and educational skills. Setup was quick and straightforward, and it connects easily via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.Overall, this is a great value device that’s fun, safe and educational. I bought the newest generation Echo Dot Kids for my daughter after she became obsessed with the Echo we have in the living room, and honestly it’s been a great decision.It’s very child-friendly straight out of the box. The setup was easy, the controls are simple for kids to understand, and the parental features give good peace of mind without feeling restrictive. She uses it daily for music, stories, questions, and alarms, and it’s nice that she has her own device rather than constantly taking over the main one.One feature I really like is the light. It makes the device feel more fun and engaging for children, and it’s also useful as a visual cue rather than just relying on sound. The overall design feels durable and clearly made with kids in mind.The only thing I’m genuinely annoyed about is not buying it sooner. It’s been so useful that I can’t believe we waited as long as we did.I’d definitely recommend this for children under 13 or 14 who want their own smart speaker in their bedroom or play space. It’s practical, fun, and actually gets used every day.

Awesome design. Bought as a birthday present. Annoyingly went on sale a week later, in which the price halved. Very annoying. I would say wait and buy it on sale (when it’s under £30) as either way you get the same product and extras. It’s a bit of a joke at full price and seemed worth it with the year kids+. But after seeing it on offer for a period I feel ripped off. The kids+ seemed ok but had real difficulties getting it to play just radio stations. He likes the bedtime stories and setting alarms but doesn’t always let him listens to the music he wants. He wanted to explore different genres and was a struggle. Then it wouldn’t let him listen to country. Had to fiddle with settings a lot.

Great devise and frequently used for stories
My son absolutely loves this and likes listening to stories at bedtime, shame the free audio books on Amazon kids are limited and not changed very often even when you are paying for a subscription.We also find it frustrating trying to find out what books are available when asking Alexa and you have to go through the app which isn’t very clear or easy to find out!Good that he can listen to music and we can use the drop in function to get his attention is he is upstairs and I’m downstairs, saves shouting! Looks good in his room, nice bright design.

Great design, very responsive, and ideal for bedtime routines
We bought this for our daughter and she absolutely loves it. The design fits really nicely in her room and feels more like a fun bedroom accessory than a piece of tech, which helps it blend in rather than stand out.We already have a few smart speakers around the house, and this is easily the most responsive one we own. It picks up voice commands quickly and reliably, even when there’s background noise. We’ve integrated it with our usual music apps as well as our Philips Hue lights, and everything works smoothly without any issues. The speaker quality itself is also good, with clear sound and more volume than you’d expect for its size.We’re still getting used to some of the Kids Alexa features, but so far we’ve been impressed. The parental controls are solid and easy to manage, and we mainly use it for bedtime activities and stories, which have been really helpful in building a calmer evening routine.Overall, it feels well built, works reliably, and has quickly become part of our daily routine. Very happy with it so far.

Great surprise Christmas gift
We bought the Echo Dot Kids for our 10-year-old daughter, and I’ll be honest – it wasn’t even on her list for Santa. That made it even more special when she opened it, because her reaction was pure excitement. She absolutely loved it from the moment it came out of the box.Since Christmas, she’s barely been out of her bedroom – in the best way. She’s been dancing around, singing along to her favourite K-pop songs, asking Alexa questions, and generally having the time of her life. She actually told us it was her favourite gift this year, which says a lot considering it was a complete surprise.From a parent’s point of view, the parental controls are a huge plus. I really love how much control you have over what they can listen to and access. This and the nest is absolutely adorable. I like the fact you get 1 year subscription with it. We have used it daily and have cut down on screen time because of it. I use other echo dots around the house and very easy to setup. The sound quality is perfect, you can adjust this on the app.
